Always open

Things you can do any time of year

These do not wait for a season to start.

Registration Player registration Open all year, and free. You have to be registered before a selector can pick you, so do it before the trial notice goes up rather than the night before. Selection Open selection trials Dates, grounds and reporting times are posted above, usually a fortnight ahead. Nobody needs a recommendation to turn up. Affiliation District Association affiliation If you run a District Association in Uttar Pradesh, affiliation is what gets your side into CAUP competitions. Officials Umpires and scorers wanted We are still building the panel. If you umpire or score and want games, write to the office with your experience and any certification.

Advisory

Nobody can sell you a place

Selection happens at an announced trial, in front of the selection committee. There is no other route in, and there is no list you can buy your way onto.

So if someone asks you for money for a place in a squad, a “guaranteed” trial slot or a word in the right ear, you are being cheated. Any genuine fee is printed in the season circular and paid to the association, never to a person.

Check anything you are told against this page. If it is not here, it is not official — however convincing the person telling you sounds.
